Using perspectives a Content Server administrator can create role-based custom screens (often called ‘landing pages’) that serve as a map to the content in the repository. Perspectives are composed of intelligent ‘tiles’ or ‘widgets’ that can be arranged on a palette using a simple drag and drop tool, called the Perspective Manager. Widgets can range from simple shortcuts that lead to content and folders, to fully interactive charts and dashboards.

We’ll be covering the basic out-of-the-box widgets provided in content server; we’ll touch on a few examples of the more programmable widget tools at the end of the lab session.
